Christians seeking to help undocumented immigrants today are taking a stand for what is right. This is both encouraging and inspiring for these immigrants others. We are keeping a list of notable figures (and lesser known ones) standing up for the image of God in our undocumented brothers and sisters.
If you know someone who should be on this list, add their name in the comments. You can also help our site grow by linking back to this page from your website.
Rondell Treviño is a Pastor and founder of The Immigration Project. He also worked for the Evangelical Immigration Table and wrote the persuasive article, Dear Christians: You Must Protect Undocumented Immigrants. Love, God.
Jim Wallis has spent his life advocating for Jesus’ love for the poor and forgotten of society. He is the head of Sojourners which advocates for immigration and has produced a number of useful resources on the topic including multiple eBooks. Light of Hope Immigration Law Center
Light of Hope Immigration Law Center helps immigrants by providing education and free legal advice to immigrants. They provided service to some of the 284 workers taken when a Texas tech company was raided.
They base their efforts on the bible, citing Proverbs 31:8-9:
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
While I am not completely clear Rick Warren’s view, he did stand up for helping undocumented immigrants and speaking up for them. As he said:
“Solomon prays for power and fame but he says the purpose of influence is to speak up for others and one is the immigrant. He doesn’t delineate between legal and illegal.
I’m supposed to help people. A good Samaritan doesn’t stop and ask the injured person. ‘Are you legal or illegal?'”

Yonathan Moya is the Executive Director of Border Perspective. An organization that serves families on the U.S. & Mexico border. “We equip leaders, advocate for biblical justice & mobilize the church into action!”
